THIS CITY IS KNOWN FOR IT'S BEAUTIFUL NEIGHBORHOODS, SCHOOL DISTRICT AND THE SANTA ANITA RACE TRACK
The Tongva were a California Native American tribe that lived in the greater Los Angeles Basin.
Today, this area is known as the San Gabriel Valley, which includes parts of San Gabriel, Rosemead, Temple City, South El Monte, Alhambra, Arcadia, and Azusa.
This region has a rich history of human habitation, from the Tongva people to the Spanish coloniser's to the pioneers of the mid-19th century.
In California, the Tongva lived in the area of modern-day Los Angeles and Ventura County.
The Tongva were a part of the Gabrieliño Mission, and their primary language was Spanish. They also spoke the Luiseño language.
Today there are 1,700 Tongva or Gabrieliño self-identified individuals living in Southern California.
The Arcadian city of San Bernardino had a population near 500 by 1900, making it the fourth largest city in Southern California after Los Angeles, San Diego, and Riverside.
Today that city is better known for its racing track than its garden-like qualities.

This golf course is open to the public and it's one of the most beautiful golf courses in the area.
7. Visit the Santa Anita Dam:
This dam is one of the largest earthen dams in the country and it's a popular spot for fishing and picnicking.
The best schools in the city are served by the Arcadia Unified School District. They serve primary and secondary education.
Compared to the state average, reading scores for the AUSD are 2.8% higher, and math scores are 3.2% higher.
